WACKO&KRANE presents THE CONTAINERZ - FINAL

Image

It's a small map but full of "gimmicks", including a laboratory where the germans are trying to clone soldiers and a turret that can be set to kill your enemies. There're different events for FFA and TDM. There're sentrys protecting the germans spawn points from spawnkillers and american captains protecting the allied spawn points.

Here is some more screenshots:

More screenshots and the download link here

You will need jv_bots.pk3 inside your main folder (for the sentrys, scientists and captains) but this map was NOT made for bots fighting, we think it's too small... And a OBJ version it's also on our plans, so post your opinion here!

THANKS: To nuggets for his endless help! :D ...and to this forum :D ! Without you, there will be no containerz!

ps: and to Cheetohs, for his "acrobacies"!

Enjoy!

That looks really nice :D good details like the spinning body in the water, allies captains and i also liked the automatic aiming turret :D and also when you respawn as axis :D I really love it.

The only bad thing was the fps (sometimes below 10, and sometimes in the 60 or 70 fps). I also think that the ambientlight is a bit too dark.
I saw a little thing to fix:

It must be water but it gives glass holes :)

I really liked the map anyway :D

Oh yes the sky! Very nice sky, I saw it but didn't take note of it. If I didn't know any better it would almost appear that the shots came from some sci-fi or Bond movie!! :D

No, the sentrys and the captains are invincible ( and the scies too)...Our first idea was to make the scies normal, but enableEnemy=0 it's not working on them for some reason...

And the bad fps is only in the lab, coz of all the refecting textures. My GeForce MX 100 is suffering too, but I presume all here have better vidcards  !

The sentry guns remind me of the good ol' Goldeneye and perfect Dark days on the n64! Brilliant idea to minimize the spawn killing!

I should not say minimize...You can even sneak behind the sentry but as soon as you shoot the spawner, the sentrys perforate you...1x1  !

Sentry: stg44

Captain: BAR

Nothing but the best against spawnkillers  !

btw, thanks for all the good feedback :D ! But, as this is a beta version, I want to hear the bad feedback too  .

Oh it is wonderful to see such great use of lighting. And the stock tension music is very fitting. Great work!

hey, this sounds more than good :D. Just came back from vacations and reading this is a warm welcome indeed.
The bad fps in the lab, yep, I was kinda expecting to get this feedback...
I think, we can easily improve the performance by changing the reflecting textures in the lab to something ordinary and wont loose too much marks in 'texturing'

But, as Krane said, now we need ur bad feedback

Ok, i just downloaded it and found some mistakes in the map.

-in the office for the axis scientist, you can walk through that small utility box on the counter.. nothing much.

-outside next to the underpath to the allies spawn there is that large crane lifter, you can walk through the middle bottom of it if you crouch.

-That large iron crate-container thingy that is stacked up and has the 2 windows in it (outside)... you can see through the bottom of it, where-as when you look through the windows into it, it has a floor.

I think that was all that i spotted. not much at all!

beautiful map guys, nice work, i love the detail that you put into it and how everything has a different archetictural style to it.

My favorite part of the map (besides the containers themselves!) would have to be the allies tunnel into the base. It looks so real and reminds me of the tunnels that allie POWs during the war would make to escape. The rope ladder topped it off for a beautiful touch ;) . Luv it guys!

Thanks Cheetohs!

- Thee small utility...we'll fix it!

- The crane lifter, I'll see what you mean, will fix it too.

- But the large iron crate-container thingy ..can you see thru the texture? I didn't got it (sorry  ). If you'd be more specific, I'll really thank you.

Your feedback is more than welcome, just helping us to make a better map  !

And thanks for trying our map!
