I would like to make a grate cover( like in moonlight radio) that you have to destroy to gain access to a vent. I see no grates that have a broken version. Can you still go about doing this like you would do a breakable window. Would you script the same texture as an object and place it over the original and set the health for it to work? Now that i think about it...is there a FUNC option for this?
Depending on what you want you could also use "func_crate", when destroyed it will spawn some debris and be removed leaving the went open to enter (if that's what you want).
Problem is that the default debris for func_crate is wood so it might look strange when it's a metal grate. You can set different types of wood debris and I think it's possible to make metal debris too. But I don't remember how, someone else will have to help you with that part.
