leak

File > Pointfile will find leaks into the void. So, if you make a test map with just your room and no skybox, it should find the leak--after it is compiled.

Hint, for the test map, block the doors with caulk brushes.

red line

Good! Following the red line will show the hole into the outside void.
The file that makes the red line ends with ".lin", and it is made during the compile, if there is a leak.

another good way to optimize vis is to make a skybox, even if your map isn't outdoors, jsut use a caulked brush all the way around your entire map (try to get it close to walls etc) and hollow it. since leaks into void aren't calculated after that then you're pretty much okay even if you have a leak.
