Good luck! We have been working on various versions of an FT for about a year and most cause serious framerate problems and server loading. Server load is severe enough to crash the servers when used on maps that aren't specifically designed for the FT, like all of the stock maps.
Our final HITP FT has sprite based flame (not very spectacular) but doesn't impact servers, although it still causes some framerate loss.
