cause it was really annoying to find this site down after managing to squeeze up some free time out of my exam schedule to check here.

Hmmm... I do have access to the database and the forum code...

I could add or subtract post at will... I could even be so evil that I put in a conditional statement somewhere that checks for a specific user posting, and if it IS that user: reduce the post count with one instead of increasing it

But that would make me a spawn of satan... and thats a bad thing, right

And after all, jv_map has the same access as me so... *wistles and tries to look cute, walks away with his hand in his pockets*

hmm!! could he have been talking about me ? i post alot ,im not part of the .map staff ,i only have to post 96 more posts and i will be 7 ranking as highst poster (taking away he title from surgeon) .

To return to the original topic:

GameSpy has found the reason for our DataBase problems here at .MAP

Apparently some new site connected to the same database did some bad programming. And this affected every site connected to the same database. From what I undesstand: this is now fixed and we should be up forever from now on ( famous last words anyone? ).
