Custom sound

Post by HotShizzle »

OK i have another problem...this time it is with custom sound...i did everything that says in the tutorial on the site that is labeled "Adding custom sounds"...i wanted to add an actual song to my map....i made the script model...and everything im supposed to do then put some stuff in the script , the song plays, but the song and like the voice is all squeaky....how do i fix this problem? by the way here is my script

Code: Select all

local.master=spawn ScriptMaster
local.master aliascache gotgun sound/amb/Nasgotgun.wav soundparms 1.0 0.2 1.0 0.2 200 2000 auto loaded maps "obj dm"

level waittill spawn
$radio loopsound gotgun
First i had the song as an .mp3 and i thought the problem might be with that and so i converted to .wav and i still had that problem

pitch

Post by tltrude »

The pitch is adjustable. IT is the third and forth numbers of these four.

1.0 0.2 1.0 0.2

Change them to these and it should sound normal.

1.0 0.0 1.0 0.0

Here is what they all do.

aliascache alias_name wavfile soundparms basevol volmod basepitch pitchmod minDist maxDist channel loaded|streamed maps "mapstr1 mapstring2 mapstring3 ..."

ok i changed the 1.0 0.2 1.0 0.2 to 1.0 0.0 1.0 0.0, the song slowed down to normal, but there is like a fff sound in some parts when the singer says something with the letter s...then i tried 1.0 0.2 1.0 0.0, but nothing changed and i still had the fff sound....wat do i do now?

numbers

Post by tltrude »

I don't know. You'll just have to try different numbers. The first number is volume, so try turning it down to 0.8 or something. Does it sound ok when you play the wave file in windows media player? Did you convert it from an Mp3 file?

mp3

Post by tltrude »

Try using the original mp3 file. Be sure to change the name in the local.master line. It may also have something to do with your audio settings in the game.
