conveyor belts

Post by Patroclus »

Hey, does anyone know howto make conveyor belts? All I can coe up with is a big strip that wiggles across the area I want it to convey...

I also would like to know if there is any way to make something that walks (or at east looks like it). I am trying to make a mp of Hoth (the big Iceplanet in starwars) and I need to make the walker thingys walk... I have this really sweet script for having the blow up and fll over, but they just stand in one place making my made, the best i can do is hve the float from one place to another... please help...

Thanks

Conveyor belts are best done with scrolling textures--like a river shader. Someone already made one and the map may turn up with a search of the forums.

Making your Starwars walkers walk will take an expert because each little leg section must be rotated and timed, just right, to the forward movement.

yah, ive experamented with the walkers and I cme up with a bobbing shaky thing with legs moving up and down a odd rates and not attached to the frame, plus it is hard to climb the ladder into them... I think I will make them stationary...

So how do I get the belt to work? what eactly is a scrolling texture?

I found the map for you.

Just open the pk3 and grab the texture and shader--shaders are in the scripts folder.
