right after the crash, press ~ to bring the console and scroll a little to see where the error is (probably a door leaked). Or, before start the map, type logfile 2 in the console. A file called qconsole.log will be produced inside your main folder, containing all the stuff there.

Or simply redo this door  !

You don't need "alwaysaway 1" because that is for rotating doors, and it is default for them anyway. You do need an angle set to tell the door which way to move. If no angle is set, it will move towards 0 degrees (same as 360). When opening, the door has a built-in lip of 8 units. So, if you want it to open all the way, you must set key/value lip/-8.

my mohaa shuts down too.

I bring down the console and this is the error it reveals:

setsolidtype: solid bsp entity at :
x -650
y 4254
z 147

I went to those cordinates and found my door, but I am not sure how to fix it.

crash

Post by tltrude »

The game will crash if there is a loose origin brush that is not part of an entity. For rotating doors, the door brush and the origin brush (center of rotation) must be one "func_rotatingdoor" entity.

The way to tell if both brushes are one entity is to select one of them and hit key E (for entity)--the other brush should become highlighted. There should also be only one "func_rotatingdoor" lable for the door in the 2D window.

You don't need an origin brush for the sliding "func_door".

Is it too much work if you redo this door?
