First off you'll need a graphics program that can handle targa's with ALPHA layers, such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

EDIT: I forgot to ask, is this a custom window, or do you want to use a window that comes in he game. In that case there are tutorials here at .map on windows.

go here: http://users.1st.net/kimberly/Tutorial/window.htm

Tells you how to make a window...also tells you how to make a broken window.

Add this site to your favorites because it is one of the most helpful tutorial site for moh mapping I have found...Even better than .map...I mean no, not better than .map... .map is the best. :P

pah nemisis isn't at all better than .map. .map's downfall was sopping accepting tuts. Nemesis is just popular because he does MP maps. which everyone loves and no one plays.

i think he meant "stopping" accepting tutorials .

nemesis has quite a few useful tutorials that really help .some of them might not be very detailed or thorough like the ones here .but they do get you from A to B . u end up making what u want without understanding what u really did :D ,takes u alittle more time though .
on .map the tuts are very noooooob friendly .

manstiens is also a cool place

rjukan is also a good place ,tutorials arent really noob friendly as here ,but then again alot of tutorials are shared :D

Nemesis is ok but he has a bad habit of using CSG subtract. That is like the number one mapping sin. I admire him for making lots of tutorials, I dont admire him for copying tuts and not giving the original author credit. He has done this to me several times. Example, the random explosion tut was mine that I sent to him. He didnt even copy it exactly, left out some important info and no credit. But oh well... it still helps the community somewhat. .Map has great tutorials and even better moderators who are willing to help. TMT is also decent. I have made a few tutorials over at Mansteins also. He did give me credit. Thanks Manstein! I think I have a custom loading screen tut and a custom textures tut over there. He has a great outdoors tut that I enjoyed learning from. In my opinion people should do more research looking for tutorials than looking for a forum to answer questions. There are plenty out there. If after doing a tutorial and still stuck, that is when the individual should look for a forum.

i woudn't make doorways out of it, certainly not. but i would use it to cut oddly shaped holes in brushes etc.

i hardly ever use it though... for doorways i build brushes around the doorway... the way i understood was best ;)
