Well I finally finished my new map, it's called 'Arena' and it's a round-based MP map for up tp 32 players.
Now, this is meant as a 'fun' map and is not in the least bit accurate, realistic, historical etc and shouldn't be viewed as such. Anyway, here is a download link: http://www.omg-clan.com/files/maps/arena.pk3
I'll try and get some screenies put up later but at the moment I'm struggling for hosting.
Basically it's set in a huge building with 10 floors, at the start of each round both teams get in their own elevator and then a floor is randomly chosen for them to fight in., (each floor has it's own obstacles/theme). In each lift is a trigger that if the opposing team can get to releases gas that kills the other team.
And that is the basic idea.
Add to that a host of random events such as weapon changes & immunity, and then most of the floors also have triggers to perform things such as: weapon changes, highlighting the opposing team, dishing out immunity and teleporting.
Finally, almost everything that happens in the map can be Rcon configurable.
With rcon you can do things like: force everyone to have the same weapon or make them completely random, make levels bash only, change the colours of all the dynamic lights, change the lift speed, force the level chosen, force a level to always be skipped, force a particular 'mutator', change the timings of triggers, change the damage given out by pain triggers or just turn everything off and much more.
This is my first script that deviates from a stock OBJ script in any real way and so as such will appear very amateurish to any script Gods who look at it and written in a very long-handed kind of way - but it mostly works how I want it to and any deviation from planned results I look at as a 'feature'!
So anyway, I hope you enjoy it and have some fun - with a full server it can be a blast!
Any comments and criticisms would be appreciated.
[OMG] Ramah.
(Oh, and thanks to all the script gurus on the .MAP forum that have helped me out with my questions over this past month
