Clipping/Holes In Walls

Post by Desert Eagle »

I know not to use "subtract" to create holes into walls for windows or to create irregular shape holes into walls, so how do you clip correctly.....like cutting a triangle hole into a square wall?

As always any help would be appericated.

Make a brush. To make a triangle, go to Brush, the select 3 sided. You may want to rotate it to a correct position. Then press the csg subtract (I recommend you do not use that).
Live to map, not map to live.

For a triangle, you usually have to split up a wall in two sides. Make a vertical split where you want the top of the triangle.

Then switch to front or side view, anywhere you can see the wall correctly. Make to more splits (one in each brush) and you'll get a sweet looking triangle 8) .
