ENLISTED:

RCT (don't know what this is, recruit?)
Private
PFC (private first class)
Corporal
Sergeant
SFC (sergeant first class)
(there are a few others in enlisted men, sergeant major is top i belive.)

OFFICER:

2nd Lieutenant
1st lieutenant
Captain
Major
Colonel

(then a ton of generals and junk)

regardless of whether you're a sergeant or a private an officer always is higher rank than you. even if you've been in for 20 years and he's been in for 20 minutes it's a fact.
