[Spec Ops] Jack Ruby wrote:Cricket ? haha I always hated cricket, its ok when your batting but no fun at all when your fielding, when we were kids every single cricket game only lasted until the first batting team were meant to swap to fielding then they would all say " Nah we're bored lets do something else ". So the moral of the story is ALWAYS BE ON THE BATTING TEAM FIRST.

My PE teacher got around this problem by adapting the game,

we got the six stumps and layout them out in a pretty big rectangle, there was only 1 batter at a time. You hit the ball, run to the other end of the rectangle and back to complete 1 run.

The other 35 guys were the fielding team and their job was to hit you with the ball while your running, anyone who does not know cricket balls are really frickin hard, so it really was an insentive to run like a madman dodging the small concrete like ball that people are throwing as hard as they possibly could at you :)

Made fielding interesting at least and even got the fat boys running when they were batting :)
well of course cricket is gonna be crap if u play it at school. it is awful. not even proper cricket. what did u use, a tennis ball

however, u play for a proper club it is awesome... and the answer to boring feilding is to bowl

better than running thru people anyhow *cough* american (well i cant even call it football, they use their hands :? )

Also if I'm correct pounds are used for both force (weight) and mass :?

i think that is just unfair
many americans didnt like the same idea .so the french werent doing anything wrong
besides , just because they helped them liberate thier country 5 decades ago doesnt mean they should be entitled to agree to everything us says ;) .the war was agaisnt nazi's not to liberate french .but liberating it was a step froward .

if so,many british died making america (colonial times) .that makes us a slave for uk?

Hogleg, I find the French position offensive too.

Literally millions of Englishmen have died on French soil, for them to not show support is pretty unforgiveable.

But then are they not known throughout the world for amazing arrogance, maybe its just a cultural thing that they cant help.

After the reunification of Germany the French should maybe be building bridges with the USA and UK, history tends to repeat itself !

All I can say is Remember Agincourt :)

france is building bridges with the UK, what with the new EU...

and i hate the way US thinks we are all in their debt, cos they came over and ahem, "saved" us.

they did not give 2 hoots about us, or they would have entered the war 1939. We entered to save poland. did US do that for us? NO. they only entered when their precious little Pearl Harbour was bombed. For US the war started 1942. 3 years too late.

and then there was a movie about how horrific Pearl Harbour was. Blitz? Where was the US when London was getting blown to bits? well? The were selfish arrogant country not heroes.

Please do not get the wrong impression - i like USA's ppl, just disagree a lot with government views. And some ppl's views aswell.

I agree marine, the USA did leave us to burn in our homes.

I have read that Churchill knew about the attack on Pearl Harbour but didnt say anything so the USA would have to stand up up be counted.

My mother and fathers houses were both bombed in the blitz ( they were kids then and lived in different parts of town ).

The UK is still paying war loans back to the USA.

I think that we should have moved all our troops from India and the rest of the world to put down the insurgency in the American Colonies, we could have and should have but its history now.

Funny how everyone is now a terrorist but during the war of independence the rebels didnt consider theirselves terrorists !

that's true, we weren't going to lift a finger to save your butts. but then, you weren't going to do anything about any of our wars, why should we care about yours? Germany was up against Europe. one smallish country actually defeated a continent and parts of Afrika? sad....

btw don't take this as i hate all Europeans, i love most, English are cool Dutch, it's al good in my view. but French are kinda, well, fluff. arrogent, kinda stupid really, and, well, i know they can;t help any of this but i dont't like their language either.... i know it's stupid but all that ooo and aaah and crap in it makes it jsut too theatrical for me.

If America thought like the French, We would have just attacked Japan and let France, UK, poland etc, deal with Germany.

America was in discussions with Churchill before pearl Harbor. America backs the British and the British back America seeing were from the same background. It took America a couple of years to gear up for the war but the point being that Country's should pull together when there is a great evil that needs to be dealt with, IE, Hitler, terrorist, etc.

We were there for the French and in return they should have backed us. Even if they didn't agree 100%.

And if France has a major terrorist attack do you think they will want help....wewe

So many disagree with what Bush has done, but the reality of it is that something had to be done to stop this tyrant and no one had the balls to do it but the Americans' and British cause we have big ones!!
Democrates, liberal's would have talked about it for years and tried to handle it passively and never got a dam thing done.
Yah George Bush :D

you know? i think America is jsut unliked so much that whatever we do we're going to get cirticized. how about we start in at France for everytime they helped a guy in need and backed down when they thought they could handle them. it's about what everyone thinks right now at America. "oooh! they didn't help us in Pearl Harbor! idiots!" "oooh! the helped the Iraquis in their civil unrest! idiots!"

tho i'm unclear on why we entered Iraq anyway.....so GW might have been a bit rash. according to the Europeans, we should have backed off and let thousands get tortured and killed, disappearing day to day for no reason at all. being murdered in the streets being a common thing. yep, let's jsut stay here and let the wonderful crapizer UN save the worlds problems by doing nothing all the time.
