eh... why not use a bit o red, it seems better suited to the land of the rising sun. I hate this green =)
I only know enough php to throw together fairly simple blocks and modules for nuke... never thought php was terribly hard overall... its databases that kill me lol =) and interating with db, forms etc...
I thought it would be very cool to make a 'random mapping tip' display fo some sort... dunno what kind of format your using... but along the lines of the classic 'random quotes' like the block I put on our site. (I know 99% of the people are rarely, if ever going to read what pops up in that box, but I love it for some reason =p) Anyway, as opposed to random quotes, mapping tips is something that people probably might look at, and look back at again next time. I always thought that would be cool, but hey, its not like people come to my clans site for mapping tips

so no point in me making one(not to mention I wouldnt have felt comfortable with dispensing all but the simplest of tips personaly =) )
Another thing that would be great on a site devoted to mapping would be a venue for distributing information on servers that run custom maps. Be it a forum, or something more elaborate. I assume that most of us mappers and modders are at the very least 'part time' players and I would hope, that most of us enjoy good, fun custom maps. However, its not easy to find custom maps on servers, nor is it easy to attract players to servers running custom maps. Some method of ditributing information on servers that often run custom maps, or to let people know when a server not dedicated to customs will be running certain custom maps would be very cool to me. I love mapping, but even cooler then appreciating your map, or someone else looking at it and appreciating it, is just watching other people play on it and enjoy it. To me, thats what they are made for, to be played. The last couple weeks, Ive had 6-10 people running around on my rail-station map on a few different nights. Not only is it great fun to have people playing it, but its very informative to see the map in full combat mode. The sounds, the constant movement and gunfire as people wage war, and most of all the heat of battle, really show how the map is flowing, and how it is not. hehe but I have digressed...
