Is there any way to change the fan speed??

Should this be posted in scripting?

Turn it into a script_object and add the following key/value to the entity.

key: rotateY
Value: 360

Or just use the rotatingdoor func and add those values.

What do you mean hogleg, how does that change the speed of a fan. Fans are script_objects.

OK if your fan is a script_object and say it's targetname is $fan, then in the script (not the entity window, I'm not sure if that works), put

$fan rotateY 360

Then you can change that number to whatever speed you want. Also depending on the angle of fan (cielingor wall) you can make it Y X Z one of those.

I usually make my fans from the rotating door function. Not scripted.
Just give it an origin to spin on and put in those values.

That would work, but wouldn't you have to press the use key to turn it on?

It's much more economical to make fan blades from one transparent texture with rotating animation set in the shader.

no MAstermind. use key is only for doors, use triggers, and pickupables. like dropped guns.

lol i always do my fans from scripting. all this nonsense to get out of scripting with these elevators that are really doors, fans that are just rotating doors... lol it's almost pitiful.

Balr14, you're right but that's really to complicated for a simple fan, besides it'd only be 2d anyways.

Lizardkid, it's a lot easier like you said with scripting gives you MUCH more control, easier to test speed/angle just change and save rather than change, save, compile, etc etc... I agree with those last points
