Bright Water?

Post by Stratocaster »

I was able to use the brown water textures to make realistic subterranean water flow, but look at the screenshot, it's dark down there and the water seems to be bright, I mean it should look darker, shouldn't it?
Is there a way to fix that?

Looks like ur water has ambientlight. remove it and give the tunnel a little light.

I thought ambientlight was given to the whole worldspawn. In fact I have ambientlight 20 20 20 as key/value in my worldspawn properties.
So there is a way to remove that key/value just for that brush???? :roll:

Try commenting out this line in the shader.

//surfaceparm nolightmap

You may have to recompile to see a change.

If u highlight that water brush then pull up "N" its properties or watever
and there's no ambientlight values you'll have to adjust the shader for that texture like Tom said.

You can give any surface ambientlight, not just ur skybox.
