3 maps to test....

Post by Balr14 »

But no place to host the files... (110 meg).

These are my HITP2 maps, just the maps; they won't have any of the HITP2 weapons, play modes, skins, etc. But, I need somebody to test them with me. They still need some tweaking, but they really need to be play tested first. The maps are:

Guadal Canal - Bloody Ridge

The island fortress of Corregidor

Borneo - Dead man swamp

Great stuff.

1asphost sucks, it has bandwidth limit making you wait 12 hours if it is exceeded.

That would be great, but only for about a week. I don't want them to be generally available until HITP2 is done.

Ahhhh.... this wouldn't be through www.alliedassault.us would it? I can't post any HITP maps and stuff there.

Nope... it's the UberClan FileFront account, I'll see if I can get you the account details tonight (in about 10 or 12 hours from now) I forgot about it this morning, sorry for the delay.

Thank you, Kalti... but I have the FTP site. Now, I will repackage and upload everything needed for the test, then look for about 12 volunteers.

Swamp is as good as I can get it. I may be able to add a few vis-leaf groups to Bloody Ridge, but it's iffy. On Corregidor, I may reduce the size of some textures and decrease the density of some foliage. But, my test system isn't exactly a "hotrod". It's an Athlon 1100 with 512 meg and a 64 meg GF3 ti5, running 1024 x 768 with all graphic settings on high. So, most people should get decent performance.

My apologies for the delay in getting these maps uploaded for testing. I discovered my depiction of Battery Geary was not accurate. It was entirely covered in dirt and had steel spotter towers behind it. I found a book that shows it as it really was. There's always lots of metal missing from most images you see because Japan always salvaged all the metal they could get and sent it back home.

I've also cleaned up the texture file (it's now only 40 meg) and have to go into the other maps to see what textures I clobbered.

Here's the fixed Battery Geary:

All files are uploaded and ready to test. I stripped out a lot of extras and got it down to 50 meg total. I'm looking for about 8 - 12 people to test these maps. PM me if you are interested. They won't be available to the general public (with all the bells and whistles until HITP2 is released).
