here r 2 things i need help with.

1) how do i make ALLIES spawn(i know how to spawn axis)

2) i have a room, and at the top corner of a room i have a hole....well i want light to burst through the hole. u know not the normal light (round one)
i want like good light that bursts through
...prepare for your finest hour...

1. 'Right-Click' , then select ai -> allies -> , and pick a model. While selected press N, give it a targetname (e.g. freindly), and a key of #fnum , (e.g. 1), the # is intentional.

Then in your script add this line to the main thread.

exec global/friendly.scr

Then add this line to the level waittill spawn tread.

level.friendly1 thread global/friendly.scr::friendlythink

friendly1 - This needs to be the allied soldier's targetname, plus it's #fnum.


2. You could try using a non-solid brush, with a semi-transparent texture which matches the colour of your light. (A little trick I pickup up from HL) I think thats the effect your after.

I think you're talking about making a beam/slice of light that looks like its stabbing through down to the hole? Then the aforementioned should work for you - you will probably play around with the colors to get what you like - maybe even try just use the same sky texture you're using on the brush the cuts down through to the hole. Hope it helps.
