It seems today in MOH:AA if someone believes you're hacking <i>you're hacking</i> and their vision is clouded with that belief. Which, inevitably, in the end, they will usually die while fighting you because they 'Know' you hack and just don't try. when in truth, you don't hack, and you are actually a vet. since the game came out. You try to reason with them, but all comments in return are either 'lies' and/or '<insert a form of 'noob' here/ >'

For example... I go into this server under a different name.. to have some fun... well, i sweep the floor with them, and on this one kill, he was camping vent room for the longest of long times, enough time for me to circle all the way around and come from behind, up top. he's still there, so i shoot him. He accuses.. i care not. Soon after, everyone left the server but me and him. Did a couple rounds of 1vs1 obj, he lost, so he challenged me to duels. Why Not? I rarely do them and the practice would help. so i duel him, i win the first couple, but than i start to go down hill, hes winning 7-4, than later 10-5. Shame be upon me... I get my game face on.. 10-6, 10-7, 10-8, 10-9, 10-10. Tied.

well, he starts accusing me of hacking once again and says that im a horrible hacker because he already won. I ask why.. "i won at 7 because that is what matches go to!" he states. Since when was there an OFFICIAL end of duels besides the person quitting? Which he never did. I ask him how old he is.. "24" he responds. Its been an hour since that vent room incident and he brings up the topic 'I know you hack, I know. In the vent room you shot me and i couldnt even see you" He said he <i>saw my gun coming from allies spawn hallway</i>... But the fact is, no one was there. There were 2 allies left, the first one RUNNING on the catwalks right about his head. and me, at the doorway.

Oh yes, i tried reasoning with him, but behind the wall of insults and, dare i say... Envy, he wouldnt listen!

This is just one example. this type of stuff has occured to me millions of times in moh:aa. You be the judge on this one. I wear the hacker-accusation like a badge, For i don't hack! People these days.

Long post. but one last word. When i encounter someone that is better than me at sniping, sure i get a bit jealous (who doesn't!) but i dont start a flame war with them. I take notes, improve my game. Bleh.

It's easier for some people to believe that someone is cheating than it is for them to admit that they got outwitted or outplayed.

For some people anyway. When i die from a suspicious/good shot, i inadvertently say 'hacker' on ts, (not typed!) but i don't honestly mean it. Sure, i will watch the person more carefully but won't ever accuse. Can't people just play the game for what it is.. heck, i dont care if people hack, its great practice to play against them. Just people wouldn't jump to conclusions without a thorough exam! Ive been BANNED from so many servers because of accused hacking. must i change the way i play?!

but there are a large number of cheats out there. Aimbots that sping instantly 180 degrees when you come out behind someone and shoot at you... not to mention the constant wallhacks.


No one wants to play against people with hacks. Not that they arent beatable, but your at an immense disadvantage.

I get called a hacker alot, but I dont mind that so much as that no one who calls me a hacker spends the time to analyze what I'm doing. You CAN make informed judgements about people if you spec them for long enough. Most people make no effort to be objective though.

unfortunately for me, i'm actually seriously and for good reason been called a hacker.

you know that glitch sometimes where a gun wont render and you only see your hands? that happened to my actual playermodel and gunmodel, i was compeltely invisible, couldnt be seen at all. not even a ripple. it was amazingly cool but since i was almost kicked out of my clan for it (as it was, i lost Captaincy) i decided maybe it wasnt so cool.

but people are so pampered and deluded these days that they cant admit that they've lost, or you're better, or anything like that. they are ALWAYS top dog and nobody is better than them. anyone who kills them must hack since they are the best.

and yes MOHAA is full of wallhacks and cham skins, even a couple aimbots, but when noobs are bad enough losers to say (after camping Allied spawn with a shotgun for 3 minutes) "Hack! you couldnt have shot me when i was in that corner watching the other door!"



take it as a compliment, if you game's good enough to be accused of cheating, you must be as good as the cheaters without the cheats.

As I mostly play the same servers, I never get that. But sometimes I jump on to unknown server just to check, and then sometimes the accusatins start ( if I'm having a good day ). I just smile and ignore them if they get mad. Besides: a verteran can detect a cheater by spectating him, so you seldom get any serious accusations if there are some good guys around.

I just suck it in as flattery when beeing accused.

I know what you mean cheetohs. MOH can get pretty frustrating when you get a little butt whooping, so some people vent their frustrations by telling themselves that the person is a hacker. I have accused people of hacking a few times (to admins of course). I only did it when I believed he really was hacking. I have only done this 2 or 3 times. Each time an admin would say yeah right or something like that. Guess what, they force a screenshot and boom, a wallhack.

So I always make sure that there is enough evidence in my mind that they are cheating. I would never accuse someone just because I lose or something.

lizard, a similar 'glitch' always, unexpectedly, happened to me off and on too... It puts me and a great advantage in some spots. The glitch was that if i pressed my lean button, of course i would lean, but for my few, the camera barily shifted at all. that way i could see way more than i was suppose too, i would just crouch and lean behind crates. But that doesnt happen anymore. i think it was vid card or something.

A big part of running a MOH server is providing as much of a cheat free environment as possible. Well, assuming the server values that, which most claim to. That means you gotta be ready to take the time and watch people. Sad truth is that there are no truly effective anti hack programs.

Things that may indicate real cheats installed:

~extreme 180 rotations in the blink of an eye as soon as someone is behind the person (newer aimbots do this... dunno about older ones)

~camping an area - for example omaha stairs - with sniper... not zoomed, until suddenly zooming in and shooting an ally who coems into view. They dont zoom earlier because they can see more of the map while not zoomed.

~excessive looking at blank walls... people with wallhacks will often look to thier sides, even if standing next to a wall, to see if they are being flanked (again omaha usualy has great examples of this) I look around myself constantly while playing MOH (always check your 6 damnit) however, I dont pay undue attention to areas that give me no info... such as large sections of wall, where i can not possibly see anyone.

~zooming through walls... my favorite! most people dont do this, and some people accidently slip and zoom in at nothing once in a while(like me =) ) however, on some levels, especialy village, I have often observed people tryign to get a better view of who's i nthe church tower, or whatnot while safely crouching midway up the stairs.

The common theme in these things? Most are far easier to spot while spectating a person, rather then being shot by them.

If someone comes around a corner and shoots you in the head while you were camping that corner, it doesnt mean they are cheating.

If someone shoots you as soon as you emerge into view around a corner, it doesnt meant they are cheating.

People jsut dont get that... they dont seem to understand that thier view of the matter is cluttered by thier perspective, which was limitted. They have no clue what the person who jsut shot them saw.

the most hilarious and frequent example of me being called a wallhack is also on omaha... after seeing someone go for the back stairs while looking down the front ones... i move around and wait watching the narrow doorway that connects the two little rooms above the bunk room... I shoot them in the head. They get mad. I dont need to see them coming, I've had way too much practice, and I can pretty much even predict when they will come around that corner(assuming a uniform rate of approach) because i know how long it takes someoen to get up those stairs and to that spot, while also knowing how long it takes me to hustle over and wait for them... even if i hadnt seen them, how do they know i wasnt just mindlessly camping that doorway?

people are stupid. Ignore them. If a clan decides to ban you for cheating, talking to them on the spot isnt likely to be an option, or help much anyway.

On the other hand, you have to respect that there is alot of pressure to keep public servers as clean as possible... and while blindly giving in to mass hysteria is not the proper solution... investigating possible offenders has to take place. If the server is good, and your not cheating, you likely have nothing to fear...

oh wait, my favorite, favorite thing.... when I know someone is using chams or something... and after a while people are bitching about them... and they say, yea I am so what... so is splaetos and so and so and so and so.... lol... just cause i can shoot well without them, why they need to cast dispersions on me! This happened like 3 times in a week on bashyou's server lol

I used to respond to people bichen or accusing me of cheating, now I just
ignore them. And when I know they are cheating I grab a bazzoka and blow the crap out of em. ?

Probably ? of the time their not cheating, their just good.

THe only thing I could say would be to one, leave, or two, use this as all the more reason to hunt them down and blast them away. Also with the power of the internet you can always change identies, so if you get banned from one server you won't be tracked (so if someone tells another server admin, don't let so and so in)..........
