why was the server down yesterday?

yesterday (or the day before i cant remember which) the thing redirected me to some idg member thingy with truck 4x4 ads. :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Yeah i'm still waiting a response from a ign/gamespy tech support person as to why the problem occurred
