Anyone else think it would be a good idea for a live chat for the .Map community? I personally would like it.

we have IRC, but that lost heart i think. it's all CoD peopel there corwding the channel and not saying anything.

Well I knew there was an IRC channel, but I'd like to be able just to go into a chat here on the site, instead of having to run another program to talk to anyone. Plus I hate trying to find IRC progs. I've tried MIRC, but it's not free.

Hmm I dunno... maybe... personally I like the concept of forums because any info given is available to anyone so that should prevent the same questions being asked over and over again

Well yes I do see your point in that JV. But I would mostly see chat for community members to be able to interact with one another. This would hopefully keep the spam level down.

Well if someone has a Ventrilo or TeamSpeak server to lend, why not? It may work. Just post IP and pass and we'll make a news post and / or a sticky.

If I had a better connection I'd start a TS server. But as of right now when I host a TS server it sounds horrible. If a voice chat isn't possible, maybe a live text chat would work.

Hmm, the ts i use, isnt really mine, but heck, its already a United Nations! There are people in there that speak italian, people that speak french... gah.. its crazy. Ill post ip, if a better ts comes up, better use that, the one i use can be a bit hectic....

Ill make a '.Map Live Chat' channel in there. No password for now, if you guys want one, just say...

edit: Ok, the channel is made. 2nd channel on the TS. If you want it customized (sub-channels, etc.) just say, ill make w/e and hand out CA to the .map users.

hehe im the only one in the world who doesnt like TS i think.

bunch of people talking over eachother constantly, its annoying as hell, miss 50% of whats said.
