Two things --- This one building adds 8+ hours to compile time, any ideas why? Windows and arches providing full see through? Pretty much everything but the shell and the roof is detail. kinda annoying cause if this maps takes more then 24 horus total to compile, well no way ill be able to do it lol. (other people will turn off computer or want to use it or whatever =()

Alos... ~how does it look? =)

Moved to 'Previews & Releases' forum as this is just an euphemism for Bragging :P

Anyway, screenies look excellent (maybe add some more cover opportunities inside). Also, when you say this building adds 8 hours to the compile time, is that bsp vis or light compile? (or all? :shock: )

well i posted this with the pictures at my clans site, and the jump in compile from the one building was very annoying, so I jsut posted the whole thing here again heh.

it adds at least 7 hours to vis compile. vis froze for horus at a time on 3 different portals, the last one, it was 97% complete, but I couldnt let it go.

the inside of the building isnt nearly done.

I had a similar problem with my Axis Supply Depot map that I just finished. My compile was taking just over 5 hours. In the picture below I have a slope in front of the truck in the white box. Where the wall is, next to the truck used to slope also inside the yellow area. I had a small flaw where the brushes met so I had to alter the slope. When I did it cause the compile time to hang at 97%. I quit the compile after 24 hours. I changed the slope on the side several times and never could get it to compile so I got rid of it and put in the wall. There was something about all those angles that made the compile go crazy and added a ridicules amount of hour to the compile time.

Your building has a lot of angles and you may have the same problem I had.

Good luck, I know that?s very frustrating.

Can?t wait to see your finished map. That Church looks awesome.

One thing: the FPS in those screens suggest you should really try to reduce the complexity. 20-25 is not good, especially since it is in an empty map....

its not a real compile. it doesnt perform the vis stage.

Also, the frames per secodn on the map even compiled so, while playign with high settings, are still better then remagen on this computer, playing with ALL minimum settigns.

FPS is in the eye of the beholder lol.

with complex shadows on, I get <30 fps in a 500x500 skybox with one square building... hehe
