Can't mod Holland!?

Post by Grosskopf »

Ok, here's the deal. I've done a lot of modding to my server's maps. Mostly they are just spawned items. Today I decide I want to add some vehicles in Holland. I already have a 'wefer in there, so I go ahead and add some vehicles in the mp_holland_scr file. When I load it up to test it locally and on the server, they aren't showing up. Here's the NON WORKING holland scr file:

http://www.flotserver.net/downloads/holland/NONWORKING MP_Holland_DM.scr

When I tested this file, the 'werfer disappeared and no vehicles spawned.
Here's a link to the WORKING Holland scr file, with the 'wefer in it:

Can anyone look at these files and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

There are two scr files for holland, one in pack1 and the other in pack3, make sure the scr you want the server to load is in another pk3 with a higher priority file name like.... zzz_user_severmods.pk3 or similar, this will make the server load the modded scr before the stock one in pack3.

That's already done. With the other mods I've done, I've put them all into one file that is something like zzzzzzzflotmods.pk3 so it's listed last in the server. The other mods work fine. I just can't get these to work. I did manage to spawn a box near the train in Holland when I was testing things, but otherwise I get the results I've already posted.

Hmm didnt see anything obvious in your script.
Are you testing in developer mode?
If not type this in the console; seta developer 1
this will give you more feedback on errors.

I've generated a log that shows what happens when the game is run with the non working holland file. It can be seen here:

I'm not good at decyphering these things so if someone can look at it and let me know if they see the problem, I'd appretiate it.

Code: Select all

TOKEN_MINUS:
-

	local.bmw.origin = (-896 -994 -7) (maps/dm/mp_holland_dm.scr, 157)
	local.bmw.origin = (^

local.bmw.origin = (-896 -994 -7)

should be

local.bmw.origin = ( -896 -994 -7 )

you have forgoten the spaces within the brackets.

try it .

Dude! You are awesome! That fixed it. However, I checked my other .scr files and I saw that some of them don't have a space at the end of the () and they still work. Is the space only needed before the first number?

space are needed when you have negative numbers

for instance :

(-55 85 -96) is wrong !

but ( -55 85 -96 ) is correct .

As far a s i am concerned i always let a space even to positive numbers.
