Mirror?

Post by HyperKiller »

Is it possible to make a mirror, or a "camera" and a "TV"that displayes the camera's view?

The Quake engine has support fore something like it, but so far it seems that that support has not made it into the MOH version of the engine. Nibody has found a way yet, and exellent minds have looked into it.

It is really strange that there is no support for such things. Even DukeNukem3D had a mirror.

There's even one in the Quake 3 training map... Someone check that out (I'm too lazy to install it :P)?

That would add a really cool mod for MP , go to a monitor and flip through all the rooms and find the campers, its only fair to get an edge on a camper, right?

Some scripting guru should try it. To be able to do it through scripting alone would be nice, implament it into a stock map 8-)

I think not,
but it might help if i knew what Phallic means.
Cambridge Internacional Dictionary: phallic means symbolic of shaped like, or related with the penis. An enormous phallic tower was erected in the middle of the city

It suprises me that they don't have a 'mirror/camera' system, i wish there was one, cuz heck, there was even a camera system in CS and other older games.

Whell, there are portal_camera and portal_surface entities, they just don't work.

Not sure, but I'm pretty sure the mirror was invented at that time ;)

Maybe this will help a bit..

Put the "portal" keyword in a texture shader.

"Specifies that this texture is the surface for a portal or mirror. In the game map, a portal entity must be placed directly in front of the texture (within 64 game units). All this does is set "sortportal", so it isn't needed if you specify that explicitly."

There is a portal texture already. Tried it, don't work.
