So i saved > quit > re-opened radiant and to my horrer EVERY SINGLE BRUSH I HAD BUILT IN THE PAST TWO-THREE MONTHS.. had gone! The only things still there are entites like lights and stuff. Can i go back in time with the file? Please help me what do i do (it has nothin to do with filters because i complied and the same had happened in the compile)

Look for a directory called snapshots. This is the autosave map.

Lets see....check the odvious first.

Make sure nothing is being filtered out.
Try opening another map file to see if you can see those brushes.

If you've been working on this for 3 months you should have multiple
backups :!:

Good luck

snapshots folder is (might better say 'could be') in the folder where ur map-files are saved. Snapshots are named like 'something.map.#' (# is a number). If u haven't one, then u should consider turning on 'snapshots' in radiants preferences.
Next possibilty could be to find a bak file of your map. This should be where ure map file is. Rename it from 'something.bak' into 'something.map' and open it to see what it contains.
Last (?) possibility is to open your map file in an texteditor and study it carefully to find out it's structure, whether all brushes are gone for sure and and whether there's a 'bug' somewhere. Radiant would stop reading it at such a point and all u would get is the stuff before that bug.

Something very similar happened to me and one of my maps a long while back... one day i opened the map and 4/5ths of the brushes were gone.. there were just a few random ones i had here and there. I was mad... I checked everything i knew of at the time but nothing worked, I gave up on the map... and every few weeks id try to tinker with it, giving it time or something, but nothin worked. Than, like 3-4 months + later, i just opened it one day and it was all back to normal... oddest occurance i ever experienced in Radiant. I dunno what happened...

Erm. sorry, that was off-topic, kinda.

no put bug back, the BAK files need to be opened with Rad. they're .map files as bakups.
