I dont think it is actually stored. It is just checked against some algorithm during install to determine if you have a leagal code.

But a raw copy of the MOH install dir should work as long as it is on the same computer.

Its stored in the reg.

I will have to do some hunting to find the location.

Try searching in the reg in the meantime for anything to do with medal of honor.

Found it by searching the register for my own exact cdkey.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
>SOFTWARE
--> Electronic Arts
------> EA Games
----------> Medal of Honor Allied Assault
--------------> ergc

Local machine? = local machine... that's where your serial is stored. Do you know how to browse the register? If not, be careful and do not alter anything or get someone else with more experience to do it for you. I'm serious.

Go to Start->Run...
Type: regedit
Browse to the location I pointed out and write down the serial.

If it's AA, go to some serial code search engine and get one, it's not checked by servers anyway. :twisted: Serial code is being checked from Spearhead on.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - it's one of five main windoze registry hives. As the name suggests, it stores info about the PC. ;) The other hives are HKEY_USERS, which shares common information about the system users ;) (I still can't figure out what the hell windoze 9x has this since it doesn't support users :P), HKEY_CURRENT_USER - this hive is user-specific and contains info about user's wallpaper, personal settings etc. as well as info about the software the user installed (just like HKEY_USERS - WTF is it in w9x for?). Last but not least - HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG - stores some miscellanous configuration info, mainly about devices installed in the computer.

Hope this is a comprehensive answer. ;)
