A map with NO sun but light!

Post by Flubber »

I want to make a map that has light in it, but not to much, kinda dim if I would say. And I want no sun in the map. I got a grey skybox and all I need is some light. What would be the keys and values of the worldspown for this kind of map.

Although no sun would lead to just using ambientlight/# # #, I think the map will be nicer with sunlight, just to give it more depth. Try low values like suncolor/20 20 20. It's a thing of ur personal taste, so u'll have to try different values urself.
To have no visible sun in the sky, use sunflarename/none

caulk sky

If you use common/caulksky texture for the sky box, the sky will be the same color as the farplane color.

ambientlight 7 7 7
suncolor 20 20 20

Should make it dim enough.
