Remove "press use (e) to follow a player"

Hey,

What I want is to get rid of "press use (e) to follow a player" when in spectate.. I looked in Pak6 and pak0 and found localization.txt ..there wasn't a line with "Press use (e) to follow a player" . Maybe it's a other line what does it.. could someone point me in the good direction ?
Also i want to remove entered the battle, was shot in..,joined allies etc.

Also found that lines in localization.txt and changed them but didn't work.
Someone knows how to do?

Dont know if you have found the answer, but I'll explain anyway.

If you do not see a line in the localization.txt but is in the game, add it. Eg:

{ "press use (e) to follow a player" "To follow a player press USE (e)" }

The part in red, is the part that you must change. The localization works by looking up the first value in the game and then replacing it by the second value.

From v1.11 a &&& is used as a wildcard. As to your problem, this is an excerpt from my Polish MoHAA translation:

I tried both ways (thanks!)... So, added the line and changed the second one. but nothing happend..

Maybe you know too how to remove the "kill" messages like:
was shot in
's of his teeth
's SMG

These lines are in localization.txt but if I change them nothing happens.

There is a catch:

if you cange

Code: Select all

{ "Press fire to join the battle!" "Press fire to join the battle!" }

to

Code: Select all

{ "Press fire to join the battle!" "" }

...it will still use

Code: Select all

Press fire to join the battle!

.

What you need to do is replace ith with a space character, like this:

{ "Press fire to join the battle!" " " }

... then it will use the invisible "space string"

That's what I also found out But this "trick" doesn't work with press (&&&) to follow a player and neither with the kill messages.

are you putting the localization.txt in your global folder?

Put the localization.txt in the global folder in your MoHAA/main. It won't work if you pack it into a .pk3.

Yes I have.

Does not work by me. It works when I put the &&& in the 2nd line. So, now I have an "e" instead of "press use (e) to follow a player" in game.
I just can't remove the &&& from the 2nd line.
