Starting a map / Fences
First off, I know next to nothing about making maps, so you'll probably see plenty more of me around here asking a bunch of annoying questions, but it's my dream to be able to make some good multiplayer maps for MOHAA.
Now, when I make a new map are there any steps to follow to create the terrain?
And after I have that set, how do I make fences (namely the kind with barbed wire curls across the top)?

Well terrain is difficult to get right when your starting out but anyways mybe have a look at Bjarne's tutorial http://www.planetmedalofhonor.com/rjukanproject/
You will find some other good tuts on there also.
As for fences etc you need to make the brush with the No draw texture (located textures/common) then texture just one side of the brush only (ctrl shift left mse button).
Some things will be models (right click then static/obstacles barbwire etc)
By the way...welcome to .map.
Seere.

Thanks to all for the help!
I now have terrain with a 'skybox' surrounding it with a sky texture and the rest is caulked. When I compile my map to test it, the map loads fine but when I enter the map it's nothing but a black screen, and it says 'Game Saved' in the corner as if it were a single player map. In Mbuilder's options I have single player unchecked. Is there something blaringly obvious that I'm not doing right?
Do I have the map caulked incorrectly so that everything can't be seen?

"all the governments in the world are corrupt and in the hands of the Illuminati"
Never would have thought of that, thanks.
Another question:
Aside from making custom textures, is there any way to change the color of a texture? That is to say changing a texture of blue wood paneling to a greenish color, etc. I tried the color changer in the surface properties box but it never seems to do anything.
