Compiling Light

I've compiled my map many times before and it would normally take about 30 sec. to a minute. After making a few changes to the map now it takes over 15 minutes to compile. It only really starts getting slow when compiling the light elements. It goes about 1% every five seconds. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

This is what it says when I compile the map as well:

Which doesn't sound good at all.

you have a leak in your skybox. make sure it's sealed.

for getting rid of the light time use -v -bounce 0 params in MBuilder.

1st of all, seal the leak. u can find it by loading the pointfile and follow the red line. somewhere it will leave the skybox either trough a real gap or through a brush which is detail or has a transparent or masked texture. This must not be. Ur map must be completelya inside structural, opaque brushes.

2nd, check the brushes #13, #14 and #15. U can find them by edit -> find entity/brush and entering the brush number. They have faces with textures that don't go toghether. Just like the compiler says, u must use masked textures toghether with nodraw or other fence/masked textures.

3rd check entities #4, #5, #14, #15 and #33, what's up with them? U find them like u did with brushes

4th, adding pieces to ur map will let the compile time take longer and longer. It can take up to several hours (even days). So this is no error. For ur final compile u can't do anything but wait :wink:
