FIVEBOY PERMISSION REQUEST TO MAPPERS GEAR
Hi,
I'm not a expert of scripting or mapping but love to see fun things in my maps. I started my final map last week and before that i have collected around 200 custom textures. i have also collected some gear from
Wacko's site
tom-trude site
+ JV gear
Am i allowed to use this stuff that you publish on the net? I ask you now as i have the gear but have not inserted it into the map. except Wackos brigde as his read-me says it ok.
I cant afford to pay you as i dont have much money. I would give you a shout out or advertise you site etc.
Once my map is complete i will post the .map file for all to have and hope it will be good enough for wacko site
Kind Regards Five

hehe, Mj's 'Isn't it sad' thread seems to have made ppl start to worry 'bout stuff they didn't even think of before...
for the recycling bin, I can say, that it's intention was to offer files to copy and paste or to do similar things. So, of course, it's okay to use that. It would be nice to contact the author to tell him or once u finished ur map send him a link and tell him "look, what I've done"
About Tom's and JV's work or that of anybody else, why not ask them personally?! They surely will be willing to let u use their stuff and maybe will just want to be mentioned in ur readme (which is a good idea anyway, as some who d/l ur map will find similarities and start flaming u for 'stealing' stuff)

Tutorial maps
Feel free to use anything I have made--without credit. My web page has moved to a new server--thanks to Small Sumo and his friends.

I've got stuff at Wackos house, and I gave it to him to spread the love
Basically: If you steal/borrow/copy/zerox anything: it is a good practice to give them credit in a readme file.
The worst thing that could happen is that someone accuses you of claiming to be the creator of their work, and that is avoided if you clearly state your sources.
And if you plan to rip a major part of someones work: Asking permission would probably be a good idea.

Nice
Looks like it will be a fun map to play on. Don't add gear just because it is cool--make sure it fits your map design/plan!
and make sure that scripting wont be an issue, scripts tend to cause a server to need to send a lot of data to each of it's clients, it gets pretty slow after you have more than 3-4 threads running and more than 6 players present.
