MultiMediaCard and SD cards

Hola,

I want to buy a new 1 GB memory card for my camera, I saw that some cards are called SD cards and some are called MultiMediaCard they look just the same.
Is there a difference between a SD or an MultiMediaCard? Or are they just the same?

Only difference I can see is that the SD has a safe lock as I can see on the picture.
I'm using now a 32 mb MultiMediaCard, I could use the SD one too?

SD-Secure Digital, the only diff is a write protect tab.
