Jumping to a ladder

Hi guys, wonder if you can help.
In a map I am building a ladder stretches up through a tall building.
There are spawn points on various floors of the building. Problem is when you try and jump onto the ladder you just fall down the hole!

Is there a way to be able to jump over a small gap and get on a ladder?

heh heh, just be careful on certain servers if u press the use key at the ladder it kills you automatically... anti land sharking thing...
