New version of stalingrad DM/OBJ

Post by seere »

Hi guys,
Well over the last few weeks I have remade stalingrad to give this great map an updated look and feel.
A few variations from the origional have been made and of course with the new OBJ version there are whole new areas too.
I am aware this has been done before with verying levels of success so I would be pleased if you would try my version and respond with some feedback.
The map is pretty good fps and the tri count is fairly healthy, unfortunatly the download is a hefty 11 mb as it contains many new textures and both DM and OBJ versions.
This is Beta and any bug reporting will be appreciated, you can get the map here http://www.dmwworld.com/downloads/maps/ ... ingrad.pk3
This map is DMW protected so anyone that plays with DMW anticheat can keep this in their main folder and still be scanned clean.
Below are some screenies.

Many thx and I hope you enjoy playing as much as I enjoyed making it.

I love it Seere...

However, I noticed a still closed-off area... any plans on expanding it ?

*EDIT: nvm... probably has to with the OBJ version and all :D

Try highlighting the link, copying it, and then pasting it into your URL bar; it worked for me.

There's a link stealing proof thingy. I can't download the map either. It's neither on the supported maps list. :?

Wow.

Wow.

I was expecting another "I dont have any imagination of my own, so I recreate stock maps"... boy is my face red. This map is awsome. Really awsome, not just "hey, good job, nice map", but really awsome. Could not find any errors ( I usually spot 10 the first ten seconds in most maps ), the FPS is blazing, the lighting is exelent, havent played it yet: so I cant comment on game flow, but it looks well planned.

XLNT work seree, totally awsome.

*takes a bow*

Well, I did find a few bugs. Minor bugs, but bugs. ;)

These are the 2 texture misalign errors I've found:

This rather isn't a bug, but... Oh, well... :P If you go behind the grate fence near the V2 and go left of the ruined building, you'll find this rift you can see the skybox through:

There's one more thing which bothers me. The objective is just totally historically incorrect. There were no V2 bases farther to the east than Poland, and having one set up in Stalingrad is just pure science fiction... :?

Well, the MOH:AA community finally blew up all the Flak88's ( finally! ) so there was only V2's left ( and considering how seldom public players give a rats ass about the V2 in the stock map, I'd say there are plenty of V2' to ship to russia ).
