I think your paths in mbuilder are wrong. You have to point the "Game directory", the "Compiler directory" and the "Map source directory" to the right places.
To set the paths right:
"Game directory" -> browse to Mohaa's root folder.
"Compiler directory" -> browse to the folder where both q3map.exe and mohlight.exe are located.
"Map source directory" -> browse to where you save your .map-files.

U seem to have set ur paths to a directory on another computer in ur LAN!? \\Computer3 sounds like this.... Try to assign a drive letter to this, like Z: and then change ur paths to gamedir Z:\EA GAMES\MOHAA or whereever this is!
If this didn't help, u migtht have problems with the space in "EA GAMES".

mmmm its damn strange alright i have got another computer which im hooked up to via lan but i can not see why it seems to be pointing this way as i have checked the paths and they do point to where they should do!
Plus when i uninstalled mbuilder (i even went through the registry removing traces of it)when i re-installed why is it still coming up with the paths to the relevent places?? they should all be blank!!

MBuilder

Post by tltrude »

Looks like you are trying to make your own batch file for compiling. There is an easier way. Go to this tutorial and download "MBuilder". After it is set up, you can compile your map with just two clicks!

well as far as i can figure out mbuilder keeps pointing to my game folder on the OTHER computer!!!?? why its doing this i don't know.i have tried all the above and it still keeps doing it?? even turning off the connection does'nt help,so i guess for now i'll have to do it the hard way and just keep clicking on the change button to my computer (its the only way it seems to work,as soon as i close mbuilder and open it it just points to the other comp again!!??)

Computers who says we're better off with them!!!

Thanks for your help though(eberyone!!)

Sounds as if ur mbuilder is installed on Computer3 whereas u're launching it on Computer1 (or whatever it is called)

shortcut

Post by tltrude »

Check your MBuilder shortcut properties--right click on it.

Target - "C:\Program Files\MOHAATools\MBuilder.exe"

Start in - "C:\Program Files\MOHAATools"

I think the problem is in your user network, and not the fault of MBuilder. So, check your shortcut to see if it is pointing to your local drive. Your network probably wont let you make changes to a remote drive--unless your user name has admin rights.

Well i tried that and its all as it should be.
When i open Mbuilder the game directory still says -

\\Computer3\EA GAMES\MOHAA

When it should say -

C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA

as soon as i close mbuilder and open it again it reverts back to this -

\\Computer3\EA GAMES\MOHAA

If it was'nt so annoying i'd be laughing!

Weird thing. U could uninstall mbuilder again and run a system cleaning prog, like TuneUpUtilities. This might find and delete what is causing the mess. No better idea, sorry

check the folder where you save your mapfiles for a "builder.bat" file and delete it (?)

so you could compile Map A from Computer 1 (with MBuilder) and it was on Computer 2, and you could do somethng else on Compiuter 2 since it'd only have needed to send data to Computer 1 to compile? hey hey, that's sweet. i need an in-home network. :D
