I was downloading Splinter Cell's Pandora Tomorrow demo and i saw this article.

it says everything i would have said in there.

it's rediculus, GTA "Trained" DEvin to kill people? GTA doesnt "train" anyone to do anything but develop better hand-eye coordination, on-the-fly thinking, and to have fun with violence in a fake world... that's the whole concept behind games, to do stuff you cant do IRL, i na controlled enviroment.

he's basically hated any cool games ever created. read the bottom bit about how D&D (one of my most favorite games) was "demonized" and blamed for killings because of the Christians. this dude basically wants to take every game off the market and get 600 mil from everyone who deals in them.

it makes me sick to see people do this, has any game ever killed someone? has any game ever told people directly to IRL go shoot someone? no, a lot of music does more of that than anything.

GRRR i hate this guy, the fact that he's even got a chance makes me scared of what might happen if he makes it real...

I think if someone is gonna kill 3 people, that there was definately something wrong with them way before they played a video game. To me video games are an escape from reality. I don't play them to train myself for combat, learn how to steal cars, or anything else of that sort. I think he's just some guy that has no life, and nothing better to do than to find someone to blame for the voilence that occurs in the world.

Well, 99 percent of people can handle the difference between reality and fiction, so do you allow the 1 percent to be a representation of all.

I had it hit home on me though, My best friend bought his 14 year old son GTA, the son and mom live by them selves, he played that game day and night for 2 weeks and attacked his mom.

Broke her arm and fractured her skull and held her hostage for 12 hours in that condition. 14 years old! 2 weeks after he was given that game.

This happened 3 months ago, he's still in juvie jail

i liked itt's gameplay for the first couple hours, then i got tired of the monotony. it lost it's appeal.

like bighoss sed, it's def not directly caused by VVGs, but they may be a partial help to it... if i wanted to learn more combat than i already do, i'd go join the military. but i would certainly never just go out and attack someone for no apparent reason. that's called idiotic, and in some cases, suicidal.

but truthfully, if he wins that case, it could avalanche and cause EXTREMELY retarded bans against games where you come into contact with other "living" things. i mean, people are suing for not putting warning labels on coffee mugs. if this guy wins, others will blame simple regular things on their teens like yelling at their parents or something and be able to blame it on VVGs and all that..

wtf is the world coming to. stupidity reigns high.

two more articles, one by a lawyer, possibly the same guy who started all this shiz, and another by a gaming comic author, Tim Buckley, he's the author of Ctrl-Alt-Delete. good comic.

asked the same questions, i was surprised the comic author had more control and more thought out answers and the like, he sounded much better than the "Christ's Fiery Angel" as i call them, the lawyer. (btw if this is considered a religious slam, go ahead and edit it... it's just what i call people that beleive without doubt what they are doing is for the best, and really probably isnt.)
