Creating Hedges/overgrown areas

Post by Thirty-O-Six »

Hi

I'm currently working on a map that contains a lot of hedgerows and bocage type terrain. I'm trying to design the hedges so they are a lot more 3 dimensional in shape and size than just creating blocks and applying a texture to their showing faces.

I've been using some of the hedgerow textures applied to clip, then placing the static objects bushes and trees randomly so that some of the branches and foilage sticks through the hedgerow texture.

I guessed this was the way to do it as it seems EA have done the same thing on the single player normandy maps.Any offers or advice guys?

Maybe apply your textures and use csg subtract or vertexes to do it. BTW, the Normandy maps also use trees.
Live to map, not map to live.

Thanks for the reply. The powers of noclip mean ive been able to have a good sneak around the normandy maps and see how EA did it.
