Disappearing models

Post by gLiTcH »

I'm making a map of my house/neighborhood and furnishing it. The problem I have is after compiling and running the map, the models (furniture) starts to disappear (like breaking off in triangles) as i take a few steps back from them. I only have one room furnished at the moment with six models. Any ideas? Should I ditch the furniture?

This usually happens with old animation format models. Not a problem I think.

Hmmm.....that's probably it as well. Because only some things seem to still kind of do it. Ex: bookshelves loose their shelves and the couch looses its armrest. But since I've upped the model detail, all seems to work fine now. How do I know if its an old model or a new one? I've got mohaa with the spearhead add on. I also have a good gfx card, imo.....ti4600 128 ddr, and haven't tweaked any settings on it. Almost seems like when I upped directx to version 9, it changed something somewhere, cuz when I play mohaa I see z-buffering in a lot of the old maps as well. Dunno.....
