Upcomming Rain Tutorial Bonus

Post by Innkeeper »

I have been updating the rain tutorial and now it will be two tutorials. The first is basic single player rain. But there is an added bonus. With all the rain one would expect it to puddle somewhere. There is a depression in the terrain in the example map that will be available and it will slowly fill with water. right now it takes 10 minutes to reach it's maximum level. A few screen shots are below.

The tutorial may be delayed just a bit as I work out the compatibility of "weather.scr" and "ambient.scr" but the the beta example map can be obtained here.

Ah..but wasn't it already raining when the player starts the map?
If you're going for ultra realism, as it seems you are :P You would expect it to start raining a little while after the player starts the map, otherwise there would already be filled puddles..

not really - it takes a bit of rain to form puddles anyway, especially on grass

The way weather.scr works the rain does not start until a while after you enter the game.
