extending life of a dead body?

Post by lizardkid »

Well i understand they cause a lot of system lag because they take up as much polyspace as a regular body... but i get tired of the unrealistic vanishing of these guys. what happened? they jsut got telecremated or something?

so is there anything i can do to extend the duration of a body?

telecremated
rofl!
I won't be able to help you anyway, sure... But in SP not every stiff disappeares; only those who have a replacement when you kill 'em (like mg-gunners or dogs in some levels). Can't you check both types out and see what's different?
But, anyway, I'm not so sure anymore about some stiffs staying (or lying) where they got killed - well, at least they stay longer than others :D

scorpio midgit wrote a scr that does that. it makes a mess in mp but i always thought it would be cool if used in roundbased. Its in the Colditz castle map.

Scorpio's script spawns a new body model in an idle animation, which is not a good idea IMHO - they look unnatural. Plus they eat bandwidth in MP.

Is this for SP or MP? I believe the bots' bodies don't disappear until a new, alive one is spawned.

SP, you know me
they have a short "lifetime" after they die then they're gone. maybe about 10-20 seconds. all my settings are cranked if it matters.

Well, the only hint I can give you is that they last for 12 seconds... :?
