Thanks! So you think it was a good decision to buy it :D
Hehe, my parents told me that 'fore I could start playing it, I have to finish my report for university - I think that's the best thing to make me work!

I started playing yesterday... I really like it so far - stuff looks VERY nice. The ppl are done very nicely, too. I think it's great that not every Kraut looks the same ('s got the same face) and that they're not so stupid like in MOHAA: they can defend themselves and react like normal soldiers (take cover and stuff like that).
What's cool too is that there are no medipacks :D
Okay, the time jumps are a bit strange (you start and the landings haven't even begun yet and then when you're there, GIs have secured Utah Beach already...
But, all in all I think it's as realistic as it can get (well, at least in this generation of games :) ). You can even recognize places in Normandy if ya've been there!
Glad I've bought it :D

Yes, these battles actually happened, Operation XYZ was manned by two guys who went door-to-door (like some salesmen) and started shooting.

I like the aiming :D

Yes, very good game. I also really enjoyed it, it's best ww2 game so far. The surroundings are very realistic, they used real foto's and maps to recreate them like how it really was.

I can't wait for Brothers in Arms 2!!, which is about operation market garden :D

BiA:OMG
lmao, that's good :D

:?: Don't get what you mean...
Concerning the battles: I know that they happened (well, I don't know about operation XYZ, but then maybe I just don't know enough).
I was in Normandy quite some times and after biking 'bout a hundred times through all those hamlets like Ste Marie du Mont etc. you kinda recognize the scenery...
I think they made some mistakes about weapons (didn't really check for any but if you visit the Ubi forums, you'll see :D )
BiA:OMG: I'm gonna buy that as soon as it'll be released :D

I don't know, I got a question about BiA - maybe it's just because I'm a girl...
It's a game, alright. But a very brutal one, right? Or, okay, authentic...
But, well, I just feel sorry (sometimes) for shooting Kraut kids?!
Well, at least they don't scream in in agony when rolling on the floor, but on the other hand, that's not very realistic... :?
What do you think about that?

Actually, weapons back then didn't immediately kill. they were mainly made of lead and lead is pretty soft, when it hit them it would spread out and they would die of bleeding, unless they got a headshot. (imagine 20 lead pellets inside your chest, each ripping throguh a muscle and some throguh lungs, heart, etc)

It really depends on how much of a stomach you have... Doom 3's dismemberment and shooting off faces din't faze me, and BiA isnt bad at all. It's more realistic than any other, and it draws your eyes exactly whaere a soldier's eyes would go, to the wound. (Obrieski's death, for instance)

Yeah, I know that immediate kills didn't happen that often (happen? does a kill happen? :? Anyway...)
Well, of course it depended (or still depends) where you are and in what conditions... So, I think freezing or esp. bleeding to death happened rather often - I guess that often soldiers couldn't be rescued by buddies during a fight, or maybe afterwards they were just left between the lines...
Okay, it doesn't really shock me to actually see 'em dying, I watched 'bout all the movies from Stalingrad (very good movie!!!) to Private Ryan and BoB and the things in there don't haunt me.
Maybe it's the fact that it is ME who killed the kids in BiA (look at them, they're barely 16!! Some of 'em at least). It's sure only a game, but it makes me think nonetheless...
What I was saying about them not dying immediately is that it's not very realistic... Okay, it's how it's shown in, well, any Hollywood movie 'bout WW2 (most WW2 movies, in fact). The baddies die fast without much screaming while your own mostly die and scream in agony... Makes you have much more bad feelings about them that about the other kinda clean deaths, know what I mean?
