bugs...

Post by k47a »

Hrmp... How can I avoit such bugs?
Image
I ain't got no shade... (it's inside a room, and the light stays the same when the door's open/closed... Could I fix that with a 'shadow'?

And: I have a swimmingpool inside a building. I've been looking for some nice water but didn't find any. I dried with 'no draw' with water "effect" - looks good (lol) you just don't see that there's water inside the pool. The 'river' one sucks too... Any ideas?

Seems to be my IvaN day today
The problem at the edges u can avoid by placing the brushes differently. Let the ceiling brush lay on the wall brush like this:

----
-----------------
|
-------------
----

But this is a problem which was discussed very often here and u surely will find some nice threads on this topic.

The door problem is caused by the ancient Mohaa engine. The light is calculated during compile and won't be changed during gameplay anymore (i.e. no dynamic lighting like in Doom3). U can place a brush inside ur door to block the light, which would probably look better than vice versa, but it won't change by opening the door nevertheless.

I've made a pool with springboard which u can find in the recycling bin. Dunno what texture I used...
Edit: Oooops, texture is missing  It's taken from the venice map... Very embarrasing. U still want it?

Thanks... The problem is, that the bug's there nevertheless... :?
(I did check other threads btw). Alright, I guess it's a typical IvaNese problem...
Btw, what about the water?? Never made a nice pool? Maybe there's a customtexture you fed your frog once?

Dynamic Lighting would be nice, but my final compiles take so long now that I don't think I could stand waiting longer.
