install error

Post by hogleg »

My friend is trying to install MOH again and he's getting some strange errors. The install goes as normal until the end it cuts off.
Then when he tries to start the game it crashes.

Here's the error:

Code: Select all

...GLW_ChoosePFD( 16, 16, 0 )
...35 PFDs found
...GLW_ChoosePFD failed
...failed to find an appropriate PIXELFORMAT
...restoring display settings
...WARNING: could not set the given mode (3)
...shutting down QGL
...unloading OpenGL DLL
...assuming '3dfxvgl' is a standalone driver
...initializing QGL
...WARNING: missing Glide installation, assuming no 3Dfx available
...shutting down QGL
GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem

Any idea's??........he's got a 33 inch flatscreen

I had an OpenGL error when i first tried MOH, i was on a POS at the time so i'd check and make sure you have software (drivers) and that the vid card isn't corrupted.

Configure.exe is not necessary. Neither reinstalling DX is, as this is an OpenGL error. If he installed wincrap xp from scratch on the new drive, he'll need new OpenGL drivers.

As to the installation error - check if the CDs are intact.
