Mappin_Scripting

Post by neillomax »

I have an old script for AA that I have printed out. I'm in radiant, have the map loaded that pertains to the script. I spawn an object into the map, bring up the entities window, type in angles and origin, but the spawned object doesn't go to the specified coords, it stays where it was originally spawned in radiant. Why ?
Theoretically it should work, shouldn't it ?
If it is possible please let me know how to do it. I have a lot of stuff on the script, and I'd never be able to get it right if I had to start from scratch..thanks

not sure, but origin might be an internal field... aka Radiant is the only one besides script that can move it, i suggest selecting it and just manually finding the coords ;)

Is the object a script_model or a script_object?
If not: it will be pretty securely bolted in place whatever you tell it to do.

I am in radiant
I go to 2d window, click, go to static, go to indycrate, spawn indycrate.
I take the coords off an old script, which I had done years ago, that I have printed out in front of me.
I type the origin, and the angles in the entities box.
The indycrate does not move. It stays where it materialized when I did 2d spawn thing.
Why won't it move ?

did you read this? since it's not a script_model and not a script_object it wont move if you move the origin manually. you have to find the spot in Radiant.
