func_rotatingdoor

Post by PsychoE »

created a very small map. it has 7 or so doors in it - i had another post for help on the doors which showed me i needed to set the angles perpendicular to the door. i added all the angles needed.

seemed to compile fine - when i went to test it out i got this error message:

"ERROR func_rotatingdoor :: setsolidtype : SOLID_BSP entity at x131.00 y-364.00 z16.00 with no BSP model"

have no clue what it means - i fixed it by deleting it and recreating the whole door.

just wanted to get the mssg out there in case anyone else runs into it. anyone know what it is?

not sure if this is the right answer, but I've had it happen too. In my case it was caused by my having the origin brush partly inside another brush next to the door.

Funny!! I had that yesterday!! It's a origin or brush that have the func_rotating door but it's not a complete door or something is wrong with it. The origin that are partially are inside a structural brush next to the door generally only creates a leaking door!

Well it's is to fix, open map in mohradiant and move to this coords
x131.00 y-364.00 z16.00, you will find your problem there.

Yepper. I got it sorted out by deleting the origin and door brush, and just recreating it.

Hey how do I get a rotating door to rotate up? I'm making a level comprised completely of boxes with lids you can hide in. I need to make a lid that opens upwards. Anybody?

Try the angle to be -45 or -something.
Live to map, not map to live.

Think you have to script it.

Hint: Search for 'Malta'.
