question double door

Post by RamSes »

the texture honourcourt_door shows a double door,

now, i created 2 rotatingdoors next to each other,
then i give them the texture, but, it shows 2 times the texture, and all I want is that texture split up... do you understand a bit?

How can i make a double door from that texture?

I don't know if this will help, but try selecting one door at a time, hit the "s" key, and use the vertic. and horiz. shift, and vert. and horiz. scale buttons to resize texture to try and make it fit. Watch what side the hinges end up on, you may have to flip it. Setting the grid size to 1 will make the texture rotatae just a little if needed. Good luck

Never mind that. Make a brush one door wide. Put the texture on it. Hit the "fit" function. While the door is selected, move it right to left to scale the door down to half, so only half the door is seen. Duplicate the door and rest it along side the other so the door is back to its original width. While it is ( they are ) still highlighted, duplicate those and move them even with the others. Walaa. double doors with that texture. Dont forget to select both ( halves ) of the one door when adding origin brush.

How do you flip it?

Another problem, i made 4 doors, in te same way, but 2 doors only open in 1 direction, the other 2 in the direction to where the player is going.
I want all 4 doors work als the last, what have done wrong with the first 2 doors ??

the surface editor is hard to explain but easy to use, make two doors like you would, fit the texture to them, and hit S and play around with it.

Down in the bottom of the surface inspector there are flip x flip y, or something like that. You gotta mess with it a little.
Target each door........Hit the "n" key....at the bottom ....key ...door
value....1......hit enter....then.....key...alwaysaway...value...1...hit enter...
make second door value "2"...add alwaysaway 1 ......
try that ??????????

Make each door brush double size and apply the texture.
Then make the brush normal size again.

Sorry, i am here again, again with my doorproblems

They just wont open in the direction i want them to open...

Do you have to select something with the angle...

i tested alwaysaway 1, alwaysaway 0, they just dont open like i want it...

i think its something with the angle...
My double door... when I open it, both sides open in a different direction...

The angle of the doors must be set correctly, like so: http://gronnevik.se/rjukan/index.php?n= ... Doors#toc3

You can't just say 180 without knowing the angle of the door
