I have a small outdoors map - used LOD terrain to adjust the shape of ground.

1st problem - there are times that i am testing and i just fall through the ground. No idea why and I am trying to get a pattern, but nothing yet.

2nd problem - there is a spot in my map that i can not walk to. There is no brush there - i checked lots of times. I am trying to approach barbwire. I can from one side but not the other.
Thanks,

E

the spot i couldn't walk to was due to the barbwire. Don't know how, but it was stopping me. I fixed it by deleting and recreating.

i havn't figured out the prob with regards to falling through ground yet. Hasn't happened lately.

Maybe there's a leak somewhere there. Recreate the terrain.

You cannot have leaks in LOD The crapiness of mohaa's collision detection is what causes the fall-throughs. Basically you can only build full clip brushes underneath to prevent this.

I did manage to find one spot that I kept falling through and put a clip brush there (now that I know what clip is). I am not falling through that spot, but there is one or 2 more that I can't find again. I keep looking.

It is a very small map and my first ever completed. Is there someone/somewhere I can send it to so they can nit-pick out all the faults I have made?
