Just read the article via the link, this is an example of the worst kind of corporate greed.

they can't make a game interesting enough for me to go through all that BS. looks like the future of gaming will reside with placement of the ads. imagine a whole game set up strickly by where the ads go. game flow, placement of ie and more. ie. you have to go down a long hallway to get to the enemy and on the walls of the hallway are huge poster ads for everything from acne creme to jeans.

what really sucks is this technology will only evolve more and infringe on more privacy of the player. pretty soon it'll gauge your playing time and who you are, match your id with a citizen database and you're playing one day in the afternoon, go down one of these ad laced hallways, look at the signs and they all say "AREN'T YOU SUPPOSED TO BE AT WORK/IN SCHOOL, (your name) ?! REPORT TO REDUCATION CAMP #338533 NOW !"

anyone for a card game ?
i'm not f****** angry, i'm from philadelphia .

I don't know how serious this all is and if this will actually push through but I if the game publishers that are listed on their website have already signed up for this I think this type of intrusive advertising will gradually become worse and worse.
In this case it was done through an official game patch, so hopefully this ads-soiling will never ever apply to custom maps. Haha, I think I'd go nuts!

The simple way to stop this is to not buy games fropm companies who do it.

However, since the game industry is fueled by children with thier parents visa's, and populated by people who often must play the next 'it' game, this is far from likely to happen.

More likely it will be a constant release, counter release of patches, and hacks to remove the ads.

Or we could just admit that the corporations already own us(if your american) or soon will(everyone else). So suck it up and deal or fight the power. =) Or as PE contradicted thier own lyrics, 'Dont fight the Power, shoot the motherf*(&U(*&'... but that will prolly land you in jail...

i tried SWAT 4's demo, good SP but i wouldnt want to play MP on it. too many smacktards on tactical MP games like Raven Shield and such. i've never liked someone who absolutely explodes at you if you kill them with a different weapon from what they're using.

back to subject; just dont buy it. If it has something you hate, dont buy it. simple.

it would be best not to buy their games, but in this case they used a patch to sneak it in afterwards. they obviouly do not put such things on the front of the box.

I got swat3 and swat4 and I really like the MP because it's much more realistic then other games, you can arest ppl and all those tools you can use are great. But ye sometimes there are noobs who think it's CS I hate that, but there are enough other players who know how it works; stealth, teamwork etc. I also like the co-op, really amazing.

No it's also for PC It's really great there is space for 5 players and u can play with them on the internet, if they are good players it's really fun, you can work as a team and give orders or suggestions to other team mates, there is a Team Leader with special commands (in swat3 there is a static team leader, in swat4 you may choose who's leading the shit), and if u want u can split the team up in 2 teams, and everybody got a camera on his helmet so u can see on a little screen where everybody is. It's great to work in 2 teams. And with those commands and tools you can just play like in SP very very realistic!! best Co-op I've ever seen

all I have to say is Corporate America is gone shitty...

We can't enjoy a decent game without reading about Coca Cola... I mean I hardly watch TV anymore because of these damn ads... I've been watching movies without commericals :(

It's coming really bad when you watch 8 minutes of tv then 5 minutes of commercials (over doing it probably but its the point behind it)

I love maps because of detail, sure it would have been cool to see like a lil coca cola sign in a magazine (small), but when you have a poster the size of half your character that is obvious, it's overdone.

I love you all and good bye!
