Question for the pros

Post by neillomax »

I'm trying to do something a little different. This is just a test map for something I want to do.
I have 2 large rooms. the lower half of the wall is brick, the other half is sky. One room has sky caulk. the other is a regular sky texture. The rooms are connected by an "L" shaped hallway, as not to see into each other. I used a small amount of fog, and low farplane distance. When you spawn in the sky caulk room and look, you can see the other sky through the skycaulk. I have tried to use black texture to the outside of each "cube". I have also used shadow caulk on the outside. No soap. The only thing I can think to do is raise the walls so you can't see the regular sky, which would throw off my plans for what I want to do. Is there a way to block one sky from seeing the other ? ie...not be able to see through the skycaulk and be able to see the rest of the map

Use a hint brush or vis leafgroups to make 1 room invisible when you're in the other.
