Ladders... wtf lol v.v

Post by Kiko »

I'm trying to get one of my ladders to work, it's a straight up and down ladder...

it's on functon ladder of course, ;) ;)

well the angle is 90...

why won't it climb up???

oh and it starts right at the floor and ends at the top.

:( I can't get it to work!!! :'(

The ladder brush should be up a little from the floor. The players origin is at his feet, so to climb the start of the ladder brush must be above that point. Also, a player needs about 128 units of clearence at the top to get off the ladder, and 48 units behind.

One of the best things I found when working on ladders is to think of a compass.North-east-south-west---In the top view window.........................north would be 270 deg.
south would be 90 deg
west would be 360 deg
east wopuld be 180 deg
Maybe you already know this, but somebody else probably doesn't, so I hope it helps

You can zoom in with the center mouse wheel. Hitting key 1 will change the grid to single uints (very small)--the default grid is key 4, 8x8 units.

The ladder brush does not have to be up off the floor by 48 units. 48 units is the clearence needed behind the player as he climbs (like in a shaft). 8 units above the floor should be fine.
